Is there a maximum period for how long an employee can take unpaid leave? Like, can someone take a few months off if needed? Are there any rules about this?

Also, can the employer reject the request, or do they have to allow it?

I'm asking because I’m thinking of applying for around 2 weeks of unpaid leave soon, and I’m not sure what to expect. Appreciate any advice from those with experience. Thanks!
