The offer letter stated 14 days notice under probation period, but my boss is agree to let the employee leave today (within 24 hrs).

This one must check the offer letter first, if the offer letter stated in probation employees able to give short notice, then it is fine. If vice versa, company could raise notice on demand for the employees to demand compensation.
