Unpaid leave可以乱乱拿吗?

我有一个同事因为高血压而拿了一个礼拜的MC。她还剩下4天paid leave的。一开始的确正正经经的去拜访医生拿了MC,可是到后面她很不想去找医生拿MC了,因为想在家休息,于是就要求management问看可不可以拿unpaid leave。我的同事很气愤,说unpaid leave 不是你喜欢就能拿的,谁给她的权利乱乱拿。可是我同事说我没来上班所以拿unpaid,这样有不合情理吗?我想了解更多unpaid leave 这方面的知识,因为我也不清楚他们俩谁对谁错。
