Should we inform the employee that reaching retirement age?

Just wonder is there any cooling period required if we would like to hire the same employee under a yearly contract?

Then inform him verbally n followed with an appreciation letter for the services that he had given to the company.

Discuss with the said staff, when can he join the company, if the company has the intention to re engage the retired staff. However his engagement should be on Contract basis with new staff number

We verbally informed our staff upon reaching his retirement year. Normally our staff already knew tht he's gonna retire.
