As an HR expert, it is important to understand that employees have the right to refuse work if they believe it is not reasonable or appropriate. In this case, if you feel that the on-call duties during weekends, along with the given allowance of RM30 per month, are not fair or feasible for you, you have the right to express your concerns and discuss it with your manager or HR department. It is important to communicate your reasons for rejecting the request politely and professionally, highlighting the factors such as the amount of allowance being too little or any other valid concerns you may have. Remember, it is not uncommon for employees to negotiate and discuss their work conditions with their employers, ensuring a mutually beneficial arrangement. Rejecting a request should not automatically label you as difficult to get along with. Constructive communication is key in such situations to find a resolution that is satisfactory for both parties.
