Do we need to give intern a normal offer letter?

For hiring interns, the payment to them is actually allowance, not from payroll, correct? That's means we do not need to give them offer letter as normal employee, correct?

We use up to 5 of interns students every year, we get them through universities, we get them to stay near our office and pay them a training allowance of RM500.00 per month, normally 3-6 months, and has to be related to their field of study as they have to do a write-up of their different elements they have studied and worked exposure.

By right, the university will request the Company to come out with the Offer Letter, just like how you do for every full timer, so that the uni will be clear with the JD offered is tally with the course of studied

Not from payroll, as intern is not employee, company no need to contribute for their statutory contribution. you can just issue a simple offer letter stated that the internship period, your office working hour and some other company rules and regulation
